If It by Bri Van Reenen

If it settles on the ground
Or the wind carries around

If it looks you in the eye
Or turns away, feeling sly

If it bursts into the room
Or shuffles quickly out of view

If it sits there in the back
Or in the front making you crack

If its voice just seems to sing
Or a quick and mellow ring

If it melts under the flame
Or seeks out the light to tame

If it runs to meet your step
Or walks in rhythm, gazes kept

If it sits and tries to listen
Or helps with words given

If it presents itself as this,
Or presents itself as that

If it's right by what'll you do,
Then it's exactly right for you
